In Papua - New Guinea was a powerful earthquake

At northern coast of Papua - New Guinea on April, 1st there was an earthquake by force 6,3 points, reports AFP.

Epicenter of tremors was in 30 kilometres on the southeast from the city of Wewak on depth of 10 kilometres.

According to Geological service of the USA (US Geological Survey),there are no danger of a tsunami formation.

Last powerful earthquake by force of 6 points has occurred on March, 25th. Epicentre was in 117 kilometres in the southwest from the city of Rabaul located on island New Britain.

Papua - New Guinea is on the Pacific volcanic ring, also well-known as “the Fiery ring” which is a zone of the raised seismic activity.
